Hi Experts,
I participated in a competition organised by IMD Lausanne. As an outcome of the competition, I have been offered a tentative seat in next session. However, for that I have to submit GMAT scores.
I was not expecting to be offered a seat and hence I did not prepare for the GMAT. I have, however, been planning to study for and write the GMAT for a long time now. Therefore, I know the exam structure and all the basics needed to know before starting the preparation. I started preparing last week and I have my exam scheduled for 10th August. Now I am seeking some expert advice to target a decent score to get through.
Some background information that might be relevant:
1. I am an Indian living and working in Germany
2. I have taken two mock tests as of now - one was paid Manhattan diagnostics test (this was last weekend and I scored 560 - Q42, V28) and second was official GMAT test 1 (this was yesterday, after one week of preparation. I scored 640 - Q49, v28)
3. I am fairly strong in Quant (weak areas - permutations, combinations, probability and very advanced questions of rate/work and statistics)
4. My English is good (advanced grammar and spoken skills), but I struggle with the type of questions that we have in GMAT
5. As of now, I am targeting to complete the Verbal theory from Manhattan strategy guides and practice the questions from
official guide +
Manhattan books. I also have purchased 5 practice exams from Manhattan
Moreover, I am planning to apply to INSEAD and LBS as well. I have a background that could be perceived as great in MBA admissions context (B.Tech from NIT, 2 international internships - one in Asia and another one in Europe, 5 years of work experience - 3 years in India and 2 years in two different European countries, first generation graduate, diverse background - belong to LGBTQ community). Could you also please throw some shade on my possibility to get a seat there?
