Hello fellow mates.
I need some help from all the smart people in this blog.
I've been studying for about 2 months now and I am REALLY FRUSTRATED with my verbal score. FYI: I am not a native speaker but very fluent in English
Study schedule: 3-4 days a week studying 2 hours a day after work 3-4 hours a day on Saturday or Sunday
Topics covered: Quant: I've only spent 10% of the studying Math (Data sufficiency focused)
Verbal: Of the 90% of the time I've spent on studying verbal, I've finished reviewing OG 11th, Manhattan SC, RC, CR books and the Princeton Verbal Guide.
My 3 GMAT Prep CAT scores: Quant 44, Verbal 22 => Total of 550 (Taken before reviewing the study guides) Quant 40, Verbal 22 => Total of 500 (Taken after reviewing OG 11th) Quant 42, Verbal 21 => Total of 530 (Taken after reviewing Manhattan and Princeton study guides)
I find that I am getting killed in RC and CR sections. (SC was not too bad). Regarding Math: I feel that if I spend more time on it, I am confident that I can achieve 47+ score.
Now, is anyone else experiencing the same difficulty in Verbal section? If so, how did you remedy the situation?
It's really frustrating because I need high 600s to get into school of my choice.
Can somebody help? share their verbal study experience?
In need of help (Sigh)...

Our students have often times come to us for special advice on Critical Reasoning as they found it hard to improve their scores on it. Here are a few special tips:
1. Practice more! There are additional 9 old real GMAT paper tests in pdf files for purchase on mba [dot] com. It is about $25 for 3 tests.
2. Critical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension are the two areas that require inherent skill sets and knowledge. There are limited shortcuts. You need to find the best way you can read fast and comprehend accurately. Locate a LSAT book and do the Critical Reasoning problems from there. They are harder than the GMAT. It will be a good practice. You need to read editorial columns of a top English newspaper on a daily basis to improve your Reading Comprehension.
3. Private tutoring will be helpful. We have seen our students improved over 1 month's period. Manhattan Review does have tutoring services that can be tailored to your individual needs and that are relatively inexpensive. If you're interested, give us a call at the number in our sig below or just private message us.
If you're not looking for tutoring, our self-study package or our online library is also a good, inexpensive option for extra prep.
Hope this helps!
