Nathan-4
Irish - 6.

1/4 + 1/6

= 5/12, in 1 hr.

12/5 hrs need to complete the task.

12/5 = 2 hrs and 24 mins.

we are looking for the number of hrs needed to upload 2 moving trucks.

Therefore time we need will be doubled.

4 hrs and 48 mins.

B is the correct answer.

Nathan's time = 4 hours

So Nathan's rate = 1/4 (as work = unloading of 1 truck)

Iris's time = 4 + 2 = 6 hours

Iris's rate = 1/6

Combined rate = 1/4+1/6 = 5/12

Work = 2 trucks

Time = 2/(5/12)

Time = 4 hours and 48 minutes

combined rate
10/24
for 2 trucks ; 24/10 * 2 = 48/10
4.8 hrs = 4 hrs , .8*60 = 48 mins

Nathan’s rate is 1/4, and Iris’ rate is 1/6. Letting n = the time that Nathan and Iris work together to unload 2 trucks, we can create the equation:

(1/4)n + (1/6)n = 2

Multiplying by 12, we have:

3n + 2n = 24

5n = 24

n = 4 4/5 hours = 4 hours and 48 minutes

Answer: B
