Option C

n belongs to set {10,15,20,25,30,35,40}

I: n is a multiple of 3: 15, 30: No unique solution - Insufficient.

II: n is a multiple of 2: 10,20,30,40: No unique solution - Insufficient.

I+II: n is a multiple of 2 & 3: 30 - Sufficient.

If n is a member of the set {10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40}, what is the value of n?

(1) n is a multiple of 3.
n could be 15 or 30, since both these numbers are multiples of 3. Hence insufficient.
(2) n is a multiple of 2.
It could be 10,20,30 or 40, for the same reason.
This alone is not enough to answer the question

On combining, we can narrow down to 30, since of the numbers in the set,
only 30 is a multiple of 2,3. Hence, we arrive at an unique solution(Option C)

1 is insufficient because n could be 15 or 30
2 is insufficient because n could be 10, 20, 30 or 40

1 & 2 together sufficient. LCM of 2 & 3 is 6. Only 30 is divisible by 6.

Answer is C. This one is really easy.

the answer is C.

1. it can be either 15 or 30.
2. it can be 10, 20, 30, 40.

1+2 = only 30 works.
