We can translate the stem:
y=4x
z=0.5y=0.5*4x=2x

y+z=4x+2x=6x

D. 9x

E. 11x

Let x = 1

So, y = 4 and z = 2

Thus, x + y + z = 7, which is nothing but 7x , the answer must be (C)

Let $$x = 3, y = 12,$$ and $$z = 6$$
$$(y+z)=(12+6)=18=6x$$

Let $$x = 2, y = 8,$$ and $$z = 4$$
$$(y+z)=(8+4)=12=6x$$

Given ,

y = 4x

z =$$\frac{1}{2}$$ * 4x

z = 2x

Question :

y + z = 4x + 2x = 6x .

Thus the best answer is B.

Since y = 4x and z = ½y, then y = 2z. So 2z = 4x and z = 2x.

Thus, y + z = 4x + 2x = 6x.

$$y = 4x$$ .....(1)
$$z = \frac{1}{2} y$$.....(2)
putting (1) into (2), we get
$$z = \frac{1}{2}*4x$$
$$z = 2x$$

then $$y+z =4x + 2x = 6x$$
