Ratio 3 : 4 means multiple of 3 + 4 = 7 total students

Blue-eyed students to total students is:
(10% of 3 + 20% of 4) / 7
(0,3 + 0,8) / 7
Numerator and denominator both times 10 to remove decimal.
A) 11/70

In a class, 10% of the girls have blue eyes, and 20% of the boys have blue eyes. If the ratio of girls to boys in the class is 3 : 4, then what is the fraction of the students in the class having blue eyes?

(A) 11/70
(B) 11/45
(C) 14/45
(D) 12/33
(E) 23/49

total students = 70
so girls ; 3/7* 70 = 30 and boys = 40
so % having blue eyes girls = 3 and boys = 8
total blue eyes = 11
ratio 11/70 IMO A

We can let the number of boys = 80 and the number of girls = 60.

Thus, the number of girls with blue eyes is 6, and the number of boys with blue eyes is 16.

The fraction of the students with blue eyes is 22/140 = 11/70.

Answer: A
