In the xy-plane above, is angle BAC greater than 90 degrees?

(1) Points A and B have different x-coordinates.
(2) The measure of angle B is twice the measure of angle C.

Question - \(\angle BAC > 90 ?\)

Statement 1

(1) Points A and B have different x-coordinates.

We can conclude that \(\angle BAC \neq{90}\)

However, the statement doesn't tell us whether the angle is greater than 90.

Not sufficient. Eliminate A and D.

Statement 2

(2) The measure of angle B is twice the measure of angle C.

The angles can be of any measure. Based on the value taken for \(\angle ABC\), the value of \(\angle BAC\) can be greater than, equal to or less than 90.

Not sufficient. Eliminate B

Combined

The statements combined don't help either as Statement 2 doesn't provide any information to resolve the ambiguity.
