I'm applying, and SOM is one of my top schools. Coming from a nonprofit management background with an okay GMAT score (710), so I'm also taking HBS Online CORe to help bolster my profile a bit. I will be applying in R1 for 2022 intake.

    Laurel graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Yale College and received her M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management. With deep interests in consumer behaviour and innovation, she has served as a marketer for multi-million dollar brands across a variety of industries at Unilever, Citi, and Grey Advertising. Laurel returned to New Haven in 2010, where she joined the Career Development Office at the Yale School of Management. Did anyone receive feedback from Yale? I had asked them for feedback and they sent me some link to sign up on which mentioned they would get back in June. But so far not heard back.

Hey folks! I have a question regarding the application (Aug ’22 intake). Can you share how important is it to detail on the ’Why Yale’ aspect?

I have touched about the features of Yale (community centric, tightly knit) but haven’t talked about any courses, professors, clubs, etc (standard for other schools). I’m not sure what’s the best place to fit in. My commitment essay required more details so couldn’t fit there and goals essay required length is too short to add specifics.

Do you suggest we go for optional essay to highlight Why Yale aspects? Slightly confused as optional essay asks to be used for gaps, etc

Aug2022, See this blog post for comprehensive guidance across all Yale essays. The ’Why Yale’ aspect should come out in your ’career interests’ essay: https://www.stratusadmissionscounseling ... on-essays/.

Lastly, I wouldn’t recommend describing ’Why Yale’ in the optional essay. This essay is meant for further explanation on other parts of your application (such as low GPA/GMAT, why you didn’t choose your direct manager as a recommender, etc) or explaining something truly unique.

I submitted my application, should receive a link to pay USD 175 given my annual compensation but application page says USD 250. What do we do?

Record your video questions: After paying your fee, you will see a link on your applicant status page to record them within 24 hours. Our database refreshes with the video questions overnight, so you may need to log in the next day to see the link.

I’m slightly confused - some blogs mention 48 hours after the round’s application deadline. Are the video essays due in 24 hours post paying application fee? In that case, will delay paying for as long as the format is comfortable for me.

but if you submit before deadline, we can still access the link until deadline

Does this mean we can access the link and submit until 48 hours after deadline? Sorry not clear on that.

yes, we can access anytime until 48hours after round’s deadline (but still, always make sure with the deadline written in your application)
