[b]Work experience: 2 years 3 months as of now. Close to 3 and a half years by the time I start.
Got straight in to my family business after graduation. I did have an offer from one of the Top 4, but since I had decided that I wanted to do my business in the long run, I didn’t take up the offer and dove right in to the business.
Company profile:
The company is basically a technology solution provider covering almost all verticals existing in the IT sphere today.
Our company is a key Premier Business Partner / Master Distributor / Premier Support Provider for several vendors. (HP, IBM, AutoDesk, Csoft, Microsoft etc)
We have multiple go-to-market motions including value added sales by specialized marketing experts across different product groups for large customers, retail outlets, distribution, etc. We also have a key support motion (engineers) across multiple product segments.
We employ approximately 120 odd people located across Eastern/Northeaster India, Mumbai, Hyderabad and other cities.
We have a turnover of approximately $10 million.
Brief description of what I did:The first 3 months was allocated to understanding some of the key business functions such as accounts/logistics/sales/support to get an in-depth understanding of how each department works. Spent roughly 3 intensive weeks in each department to understand the entire business, process right from the time we crack an order to execution and servicing.
I am currently looking after the MPS (Managed Print Services) division of the company, which basically entails providing corporate houses with high printing volume an end to end solution for all their printing requirements.
A notable achievement was a closure of an MPS deal at a Big 4 valued at roughly $ 80,000.
Managing the core team driving the MPS business as also leveraging the entire sales resources of the organization to evangelize the MPS offering from our company and acquire customers for the company was my main task.
We also had the best achievement viz a viz target for HP MPS in the country. The year on year sales growth attributable to MPS has increased by over 20% and is expected to improve further.
Other than the above, overall business management such as managing HR, book keeping, maintaining vendor relations (have represented my company on quite a few meets) have all been a
standard part of day to day operations.
Based on my above profile, kindly suggest which schools are within my reach. I am looking at Singapore, USA and Europe (less preferred though).
Are one year MBA programs more suited to my profile, considering the fact that I plan to return to business post MBA?
Thanks and Regards
