Need advice:

I started studying in sep 2016. I bought the OG 2017. I study 10 to 15 hours per week.
I go back and forth between review of basic math (Gmatclub app, khan academy and multitude of other sites) and exercises from official Gmat and Gmatclub.

I took yesterday a free test on the Gmatclub, Manhattan gmat challenge #1:
total time 00:28:56,
total exercises:5
3 correct, av time 5min 29sec
2 incorrect, I guessed the answers.

Issues:
By the time I study one material, I forget the previous one, or its harder to hold simultaneously.
I waist a lot of time trying to find the why. (the way I studied math, I had to prove everything). I could go on for 4 hours in a row...
I have not started verbal or AWA yet.
I would like to enter university in September this year. I need a score of 760.
I am 45. I finished my bachelor degree in business in 1995. Managed my businesses for last 15 years. And now I want to go back to school for an MBA.

I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Hi Gizelle,

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you consistently studied? You say that you started in September/2016 - does that mean that you studied every week since then (or have you taken time 'off' in between)?
2) Have you used any other study materials besides the ones that you've listed?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

Goals:
4) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
5) What are the application deadlines for the Schools that you're interested in?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
7) Why do you think you 'need' a 760+?

Hi Rich,

Studies:
- I took only 2 weeks off at Christmas (4 days in a row where I did not study. I managed to study the other days).
-material: beat the gmat ONLINE and many other sites.
-I did not take any Cat as I don't think I would have scored more than 300.

Goals:
-application deadlines: 1st of June
-applying to Hec and Concordia (Montreal)

Hi Gizelle,

Since you have not taken any practice CATs yet, you really MUST take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test (with the Essay and IR sections); you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). That score result is essential to defining your current skills, strengths and weaknesses. A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can talk through how best to study going forward.
