I always feel more comfortable with Verbal while I'm taking the exam and then come out with a subpar score, so I am not sure what is going on there. I appreciate any advice or recommendations!

While looking for a course there's the obvious factors that one looks for - cost, content and teachers. But I'd recommend that you look for some other factors as well.

1. Look for a course that not only teaches you concepts but also teaches you the application of these concepts. GMAT is a test of application skills and as such this is a crucial factor. A course that teaches you a structured way of solving questions is very important if you want to hit your target score.

2. It should provide you with a clear and structured study plan. Your focus should be only on learning and not struggling with what and how to study. Look for a course that provides you with the guidance for the same.

3. It should give you detailed feedback on your performance and show you exactly where you can improve

4. It should offer doubt solving support along with dedicated mentors who guide you throughout your GMAT journey

I'm sorry to hear that your 2 attempts did not turn out better (and the tech issues that you faced on your 2nd At-home attempt must have been quite frustrating). It's interesting that you scored 580 on both attempts though - and it's possible that you've gotten 'stuck' at this particular Score level.

Since we last discussed your studies a little over 4 months ago, I'd like to know a bit more about how you've been studying since then and your current timeframe and goals:

1) On what dates did you take your 2 Official GMATs? What were your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each attempt?
2) How many hours did you typically study each week?
3) What study materials have you used over the course of ALL of your studies? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
4) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
5) What is your current goal score?
6) Are you planning to apply for the upcoming Round 2 deadlines? If so, then what specific deadlines are you facing?

Thank you so much for your reply again-- I truly appreciate all of your help. I actually have been taking a long break since my last attempt and am just getting back into studying. Something unique about my situation is that I actually have gotten into an MBA program and am looking to retake the test in hopes of getting a higher score to qualify for additional scholarships. To answer your questions:

1) I took my first official GMAT on June 27th (580, V35 and Q35) and my second official GMAT on August 31st (580, V37 and Q34).

2) I studied about 6-8 hours a week.

3) Over the course of all of my studies, I referred to the OG and skimmed through the guide but did a lot of questions from the online question bank, I used Target Test Prep, and I also worked with a private tutor to prepare for my second attempt.

4) My first CAT on 5/24: 450 (V26, Q25)
Second CAT on 6/3: 530 (V31, Q31)
3rd CAT on 6/17: 530 (V37, Q26)
4th CAT on 8/6: 590 (V40, Q31)
5th CAT on 8/20: 600 (V31, Q41)
6th CAT on 8/26: 600 (V39 Q34)
My scaled scores really jumped around a lot for both quant and verbal, and all 6 CATs were the Official GMAT ones.

5) My current goal score is 650. I'd really love to break the 600 barrier-- I was super bummed when I ended up with 580 twice.

6) As I mentioned, I am taking the exam for scholarship purposes and I actually have until next June. I am planning on retaking the exam in February though to see how I do and maybe give it a 4th attempt if I am not content with my score.
