Hi all,
I have a gmat score of 710 ( Q 49 V 38) on the third attempt. I have been waitlisted at Ross and Tepper in round 1. I need to increase my gmat score by 40 points within a month. The problem is I have already exhausted all official resources. All official guides and gmat prep questions I have already done thrice. All 6 gmat prep official mocks also I have taken multiple times. Can someone please advice how can I increase 40 points within a month?

Hi sanchitaHazra,

First off, a 710/Q49 is already an outstanding score (it's right around the 90th percentile overall), and you've been wait-listed (NOT rejected) - as such, a retest is probably not necessary. If you insist on retesting though, then I'd like to know a bit more about your prior studies:

1) How long have you studied?
2) What materials have you used?
3) When would you be planning to retake the GMAT?
4) Why does it have to be within a month?

1) I have studied consistently since the last 1 year. But since 3rd august I have not studied anything related to GMAT as I was busy with the apps.
2) I have finished OG 17, Verbal review 2, Quant review 2, GMATPREP default pack questions, GMATPREP question pack, GMATPREP Exam pack 1 and 2, Gmatclub tests for quant and MGMAT mocks.
3) I want to take the exam by second week of December.
4) So that I can upload the increased GMAT score and be considered in the next round.

Hi sanchitaHazra,

Before you spend any additional time, money or effort on the GMAT, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and the applications that you've already submitted. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

You might be fine as is, or there might be other things that you can do to improve your application. Since you have not studied for 3 months, your GMAT skills have likely 'faded' a bit. Bringing those skills back up to the prior level, AND finding a way to make some significant improvements, might require more time than you have (before the Round 2 application deadlines).
