It actually makes more sense for IR to be included and SC/Geometry to be removed.

Employers are more interested in your ability to process data than your ability to correctly calculate the area of an equilateral triangle.
IR tests your ability to consume and process data to solve issues. This is more valuable in the workplace, more so as a future manager.

You need this query to ask GMAC

Is a 650 score on gmat focus edition comparable to a 700 score on the classic gmat?

If so, are the B schools aware about this difference in scores?

A score of 655 on the Focus Edition is comparable to a 710 on the Classic version and is somewhere around the 90th percentile, if I’m not wrong.

Schools have been working with the GMAC to understand the difference in scores and how they relate to each other. GMAC keeps emphasizing on the fact that they’re doing their best to educate B-Schools on the new scores

Every school I’ve posed this question to says the same tbh. These are limited to those schools accepting Focus Edition scores for the 2024 intake

So there are some B schools that are not even accepting the focus edition score for 2024 intake?

Harvard and Wharton are the ones I’m familiar with. Pretty much everyone else I’ve checked with is accepting the score, but I’d recommend you check with your target schools before making any decisions.

Out of curiosity. If I take an exam tomorrow, am I able to schedule a new exam the same day so long as it is 16 days out from tomorrow?

Yes. You can schedule both exams today. This is a recent change as far as I understand… Both tests have to be 16 days apart regardless if they are online or test center or either kind.

Hey everyone, newbie here!
I will be taking the GMAT focus edition next year. Could someone please tell me the syllabus for quant, for the Focus edition? I believe Geometry is out? I couldn’t find the syllabus on the official GMAC site.

Hi, welcome! This isn't bulletproof, but here is the list of Quant Topics listed in the OG QR (from GMAC) for the Focus Edition -

    Number Theory
    Percents
    Absolute Value
    Algebra
    Graphs (Coordinate Plane)
    Standard Deviation
    Combinatorics
    Sequences and Progressions

Would recommend taking a look at official materials to get a better idea though. Geometry is definitely out but as the legend himself, bb said - they will likely still expose us to the underlying concepts. More on that here - https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-focus-e ... l#p3291414

Hope this helps. All the best!

Thanks,

100% of admissions directors did not care about the IR or AWA scores, as per a few interviews we have done with them. https://www.youtube.com/live/tRfzMENVtk ... AKA2LuQ1nf

Hey. Sorry about that. That stinks unfortunately.

So, Since you have started the test and started taking it, you will have to wait 16 days until you can retake it.

It’ll take at least 24 hours for this information to be reflected online. I don’t take at least another two or three days for you to hear from the support team the most people contact GM support proactively so I’m not sure if you hear from them as the result of reaching out or they reach out on their own but this is the situation.
