The best path forward would be greatly appreciated preferably from fellow students who have done the test recently and can help a brother out

beat a dead horse, as the idiom goes. There is no need to test conceptual understanding over and over when you are getting the concepts right at an 80-90-percent level. I also think it is wise to center your practice on official questions, as opposed to spending the majority of your time working through
e-GMAT questions or any other third-party material. GMAC™ does not license GMAT™ questions, so you can only get an accurate feel for actual questions by practicing official ones. This is not to say that you cannot learn grammatical concepts or strategies from
e-GMAT or any other source. Again, just make sure to apply your knowledge to official questions the majority of the time. You should consider working through timed practice sets to simulate an actual testing environment, as time will not be unlimited when you go to sit for the exam. I like to say that accuracy should come first, then timing, and finally you will get the marriage of the two, efficiency. If you abandon your Verbal studies now, you might find yourself quite slow and a little more inaccurate in the future.
As for Quant, if you are eager to begin studying, then by all means do so. You can always work in some timed Verbal sets on alternating days or every so many days. If you do not start Quant soon, then you will risk burning out on Verbal and growing increasingly anxious about Quant. To be honest, you will probably never feel 100 percent ready to shift your focus, or to take the test for that matter, but you want to create and maintain momentum as much as possible during a course of study, which means finding ways to engage with the material on a day-to-day basis. Think to yourself how much better you might feel if you were to spend an equivalent amount of time focusing on Quant in the near future. Just remember that Quant questions work the same way: always come back to official questions to practice.
