hi, just a question to all who got in, did some of you got accepted in the program other than your first choice? for example, if you indicated weekend as first choice, did some of you got accepted either in weeknights or westchester?

I choose weekend and weekend only. Admitted into weekend.

Weekend students [#permalink]
I talked to a MBA grad (part time) yesterday. What she told me made me thinking. She said the most valuable part of her MBA experience is to study with other students. So although she had classes for two nights, she spent at least another two to three nights and weekends meeting/studying with other students in school.

For those of us who are far from school and can only attend the weekend program, how much are we going to miss out? The seminars, the face/mingle time with other students, the recruiting opportunites? What do you plan to do to get the most out of the program?

I researched a bit on the video conferencing today. Some software are availabel for multi-party video conferencing. It will help but I guess it still miss out the ability to draw and demonstrate while studying together.....

Aurora,

There will no doubt be some truth to your concern. As a fellow weekender, I think several of the Red corps group will be coming in from long distances. I have seen 2 from VA, 1 from CA(don't know if that person is moving or not), 5 or 6 from PA, 5 or 6 from MA, and myself (RI). I would assume most of those people are in the weekend program. That said, I am sure we can do things after and between classes. Networking will be much more of a challenge but for most people this is the price we pay for this program.

I am planning on switching groups half way though. I will be leaving the Navy and moving to NYC in January 09. I will need to find a new job in the middle of the program so I guess I will have a little more motivation than most.

Navy,

I am from PA. Not on the chart yet :) because I still haven't sent in the deposit. Got to hurry to meet the deadline.

I guess for people like us, we will have to make sure networking is on the priority list so that we would take advantage of every opportunity to meet other fellow students. I used to be able to remember other people's name really easily back in my home country but I have been horrible at it after I moved to US. The darn second language!! :x Hopefully I can do better in school....Looking forward to meet you during orientation! :P

i am not sure if my company wud pay...but its common to take up a new job mid-way thru degree and have the new firm pay out your personal loan ...with ofcourse a contract... thats always a fall back...it is a lot of $$ no doubt!

question [#permalink]
hi - i've only just read the postings on this board, but never posted. i've a quick question - is it a fact that notifications are only sent out tuesdays through fridays, or is it observations, and if so, typically have those who've been notified receive their notifications first thing in the morning, or all times of the day? Thanks.

Justareader,

It may not be a "fact" but I don't think anyone on this board has gotten word on either Monday or Thursday. I believe Tuesdays and Fridays are the main days for notifications. I think some have heard on Wednesdays.

I was notified in the mid-morning on a Tuesday.
