Hi all,

I've been studying for the gmat for about two full months. I have taken two Veritas Prep CATs scoring 690 and 710.

However, today I scored a 580 on the actual GMAT prep software. I'm pretty freaked out by this. Is Veritas substantially easier or was it just a bad performance?

My gmatprep and veritas cat scores were pretty close to each other.

No clue how you screwed up that badly in gmatprep (you probably know yourself).
Did you have a mental breakdown? Are you not doing AWA and IR on Veritas but did so on gmatprep?

Figure how you were different when taking gmatprep.

I think I was going way too slow and possibly over thinking things on the GMATPrep. I had to rush at the end of both sections so maybe the algorithm really punished me. I always do AWA and IR, full tests.

Hi Nunsu,

All of the simulation exams provided from these more popular companies generally provide you with in a similar range of accuracy. Typically they range + or - 30 points in reference to each other and to the actual GMAT. I would not worry as much about one lower score as there was obviously something that went wrong, whether it was stress, or just an unfortunate sequence of wrong questions answered that held greater weight than that of a previous set. Instead continue your studies, and in about a week take another practice exam. You can take one for free here: https://gmat.economist.com/
