Hi all,

I am looking at some MBA options thru online or part-time (I am working so FT won't work for me)

Currently the following are the universities that offer either online or part time

Online:
Arizona - WP Carey
Indiana University - Kelley Direct
PennState Worldcampus
Univ. of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler
IE MBA - Spain (How is this compared to US MBAs?)

Part-time:
Univ. of Virginia, Darden

Please suggest any top ranked universities that are providing online MBA.

1. Which areas do you live near?

2. UVA doesn't have a part time MBA. Closest thing are the Executive MBA's which have a different process. I believe one program or maybe both of their options provide a varying amount of online classes.

If you live in the Richmond area (because you listed UVA), your best bets for a true part time MBA are the University of Richmond and Mason (William and Mary, not George Mason which is in Fairfax near DC) which I think are about equal in rep, though some publications have U of R ahead of Mason and others vice versa. But W&M has a better reputation than Richmond as an overall institution (both schools ride off the reputations of their undergrads) and you have true in state tuition because it is a public university. UVA doesn't do that with the business, medical, and law schools. But obviously, neither school is on the same level as UVA in terms of MBA reputation.

Checkout the Cross continent MBA program at Duke, is very good and you get the same "MBA" as FT MBAs

Checkout the University of San Diego's part time program. It ranks 14th by Business Week. I'm not sure if it's offered online though, but with a campus like that it really should be seen to be appreciated

One factor in deciding between the part-time & online MBA programs you list will be where regionally you are in the US. All the programs you listed requires a one to two week residencies depending on the structure of the program. So there is initial travel required then.

I'll mention a couple more: Thunderbird has a distance/part-time MBA (even has a dual degree with Kelley Direct) And then there's the new Flex option at UCLA's FEMBA program starting this fall.
