No problem! The Lakers are a story for another day :) haha,

So I can't attest to either of those books you've listed b/c I have not used them but from what I've heard I think they would be great to build your foundations and will definitely get you to your goal. I would definitely recommend that you purchase atleast 1 Manhattan GMAT book. This is because all the books come with an online portion that will give you access to 6 practice CAT (Computer Adaptive Tests) so that you can have plenty of practice tests. You will NOT have enough time to go through all 8 Manhattan GMAT books with the amount of hours you have, so I would not recommend the whole set. Maybe just the sections you could use the most help in. Number properties, Word Translation, and Sentance Correction are known as 3 of the best (maybe get the scratch pad while you're at it). Do not go over the advanced portions of these books because they are for people targeting 650+. I would also recommend that you study my post on the GMAT prep tips to help maximize your studying: 10-tips-to-improve-your-score-app-with-no-extra-studying-124393.html

I also recommend that you download the GMATprep software from MBA.com. This comes with two practice tests and they are known as the absolute best estimate of what to expect on test day if you took the test that day. I would recommend that you put aside 3.5 hours as soon as possible and take the first of these tests. This will give you a very accurate idea of where you stand and how much studying you need to do. I would then leave 2nd test to take approx 1 week before test day to make sure you are where you need to be.

Inbetween these two tests is up to you! Use the study plan as a way to guide you through your studying. But just remember, no score is just given away on the GMAT. If you think you're in the 400s, you def have some studying to do. I would recommend that you get your friends, family, g/f, kids, whatever, on board as soon as possible and let them know that you're taking on the GMAT beast. Get everyone on board, b/c you'd be surprised how much you need their support to spend time on the GMAT. Dive right in, and don't look back.

GOOD LUCK! Let us know how it turns out
