Hi..

Congrats !! 360-700 is amazing.. !

You have mentioned that you practised all the gmat club questions.. do we have a set of all the questions in one place.. for each verbal and quants..? or we need to search it be topic?

Thanks in advance!

Re: From 360 ....to 700 (Q49V37) [#permalink]
Scored a 560 Today Q41 V27.
Wrote the gmat back in Aug as well 560 Q39 V27.

The test is fair. Struggled with quant a bit. for example, solving for avg velocity is simple, but one question asked the to find V2 with all the other variables given...Easy question but under time constraints I had to guess....

I though Verbel was ok, until I saw my score. CR seemed a little harder than gprep. It seems that I havn't improved in verbal at all in the past 6 months...wierd.. Im pretty comfortable with SC and CR for the most part...RC was always difficult for me.

I have exhausted the GMATPREPS, MGMAT TESTS 1-6, as you can see below....btw MGMAT, most were not timed.

August 31, 2011 real GMAT – 550 Q39 V27

April 3, 2012 – GMAT prep #2 720 Q49 V39

How can I do this???

April 10, 2012 - GMAT prep #2 730 Q50 V39

Can anyone shed some light on what I can do to increase my score. I read all these stories of success but can't seem to figure one out for myself.

GREAT JOB

Hello,

I read this story!! I have almost a similar situation and I need your help!!!
Unfortunately, I didn't research enough for this exam and didn't know this great website earlier... I must say that I am getting back to math after 25 years!! And already spent couple of months on KAPLAN... they almost assured me that I will get the same score as CATs in Kaplan, in the real exam, however, my score was 230 lower than that, terrible:330!!! while my score in Kaplan was 560. I have to mention that I didn’t get panic at the exam; I was very calm, confident and focused. I don’t know if these are the reasons for my low score: I did not study the Official 12th Edition, I didn’t practice the easy parts very well and I gave up studying the verbal. My score for quantitative was 23 and verbal was 2!!!!! Unbelievable!!!
My exam is few days after 5th of June and didn’t study for the new section either! I must pass this time and I seriously need your help as Kaplan obviously was not helpful! I should mention that I have some designations and study Gmat is not a problem, I don’t know where was the problem!!??!!
I appreciate your help very much as I really need some guidance on what to study and do, please!!??

Many thanks

Hi Team,

Very happy to say that i got 700 in real GMAT,i made it...Just Believe i got 360 in my first real GMAT and one month i score 700 in second GMAT. Confidence, concentration and staying calm is very essential for GMAT

For Gmat all you need is concentration and confidence. I really thank GMatLa who first initiated in encouraging me, and Santanu 76,who gave a valuable advice and guided me on the rite track.I am very thank full to Gmat club without which i am nothing.

I wrote my first real gmat test on dec 14 2011 and i scored really very horrible.I was very depressed and felt like no i am not going to this in any part of my life.Till then i was a silent visitor of GMat Club.I thought to post my real score and get help of great people from here and as i thought i got.

Jan 26 i started my preparation and scheduled my real gmat on feb 25th. Hardly one month.

OG 10,11,12 complete.

For my second preparation i did each and every problem solving,ds,sc,rc and cr from gmat club.Gmat Club was the only source.

After completing all questions from gmat club,i was asked to take GMAT Prep test by santanu 76,

Gmatprep: around 600+
i carefully observed my presence of mind in doing each problem and analyzed my skills in each section and presented a debrief to santanu 76.
GMatPrep2 again 630+
Platinum G Mat free test 680
GMAT Prep (reinstalled) 680
GMAT prep2 (reinstalled ) 470

omg! i am going down again, wats happening with me,i was in panic and posted again.Confidence and calm in last moment is very important for writing your test. If you think you can do,you can really do it Wat ever it is ,I believed in me.

On the day of exam :

I scheduled my exam at 12,reached center 1 hour ahead and was telling 1000 times inside me if i remain calm i can do it.AWA was a pleasant breeze
after writing quans i was not able to judge my performance but i wanted to concentrate on verbal more than wat i did in quans...i was able to finish quans in time.

Verbal CR and Sc was ok and Rc i felt bit tough, cos i am relatively a slow reader, i cannot read fast,my eyes pain a lot,so decided to take less time for CR and SC and more on RC. However i was able to complete each question in the rite time until i got that one big RC paragraph in almost end of the verbal section.Still i made it to give up best educated guess, cos i didnt want to concetrate in one single paragraph and leave almost 8 question at the back. In the last i had 5 mins with 5 question left. I was able to finish just rite in time.

I was so much excited to see my score 700 (Q49V37)

Very happy.I also thank my husband who stood behind me in every step i took

Thank you Santanu 76 and Gmatla and ofcourse Vailad

I think I am fortunate to come across this post.. I was very much crestfallen after my first attempt of getting 560. I decided I will not give a second attempt. However, some of them convinced me to retake the monster. I am again in my journey towards GMAT. I am going to read this post everyday once in the morning and once before going to bed..

Thanks Thanks Thanks for this post.

Hi..
Good to hear that you have got 700. But i would like to ask one thing; Is the previous score of 360 going to affect during the application?

Most if not all of the universities look only at the highest score. So the application shouldn't be impacted.

Hi michaelmumih,

To start, I suggest that you start a new post-thread (instead of piggy-backing on this old thread) in the General Strategies forum here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/general-gmat ... ategies-1/

In your post, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals, including:

1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Unfortunately, the goal of raising a 400 to a 650 in just one month is probably too difficult to be considered realistic. That type of improvement would likely require that you study for at least another 3 months of consistent, guided study - and you would have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
