Hello people,
Well I took my GMAT today and scored an awful 470. This was my third time taking the test, and I was aiming at a score of 600. I studied for 2 months and felt a lot better this time around but The GMAT just smacked me across the face and said, "not this time either young man."
I must admit, I'm feeling low. Don't want to face my friends or family but all is not lost. My secondary school of choice has agreed to admit me on a provisional basis. I must take the GMAT again by December and get a decent score (nothing extraordinary) .
I'm not dreading it, unfortunately I came across this site late in my preparation process and wasn't able to implement the strategies in enough time. Now that I've found this place I'm looking foward to getting the best materials, plans and tips possible to score high my next time around.
If anyone is wondering what I did, I studied using Arco and Cambridge GMAT Prep Materials. As it's been stated many times here, DON'T USE THEM! The practice exams had me around a 640 level. The last two weeks I worked with the
OG 8th edition, and Princeton Review. I know what I did wrong, I worked a lot of practice questions and didn't solidify my foundation as far as fundamentals. I've been trying not to be too hard on myself by keeping in mind that at least I DID something. Now I just have to make some adjustments. When you're feeling like I am right now, you need all the positive self talk you can get.
After taking a couple of weeks off I plan to get right back into it again.
Right now I'm all typed out. Going to go out and have a drink (despite the fact that I don't feel like I deserve one) and just clear my head.
Look foward to talking to you all regularly,
Adam
