Deadline for September start is end of April, if you're applying in May, your start date will be January.

Applying in June, even May, for September admission would be extremely rushed. You basically can't afford any delay in getting the required documents, essays and recommendations. The admission process would require a lightning fast turn around time including interview and acceptance. Everything would have to go smoothly in terms of getting visa and other immigration requirements, find appropriate housing, line up the finance and also the time consuming logistics of moving. Then there's the mental aspect of going back to school, heck, I took a month vacation before starting school to mentally "prepared" for an MBA. Personally I think that timeline, even if possible, would be a very rushed and stressed out. I would recommend applying earlier for your own piece of mind.

i wish for some information from you. Is a GMAT700( q50,v33) , and IELTS 7(all four items are over or equal to 6)enough for Schulich, typically for a Chinese mainland applier. Also,i wish to know whether Schulich has a standard on IR part and AWA part? What are the common criteria for those two, respectively? Now i have no working experience, i just want to evaluate some exam requirements. I am waiting for your reply, thanks.

Hello razer727,

Thanks for writing here.

Your GMAT is within the range of required score at Schulich, so you are good to go for the next step of application.

As far as scores within GMAT exam( IR,AWA,Quant,Verbal) are concerned, the school looks at the holistic profile, so do not worry about the respective individual score and give your best.

As far as work experience is concerned, i request you to help me with some additional details on

1) when did you pass out
2) your undergrads
3) your experience if any
4) area of interest for masters.

I request you to post the answer of these questions at the new thread that i have mentioned in the previous post to this

Good luck

Thanks

really appreciate your reply :-D there are some details:1 i just graduated from college this summer, july. 2 my major is English, and i get the degree with a gpa around 3.5, or nearly 85 percent. The last two years are little higher. 3 i had two interns during my college lif, one is working in the TV station of my province and another is working in the newspaper agency. Each intern lasts for around 2 months. 4 in fact, i personally wish for the MBA program. Schulich does not impose the two years working experience requirment on the applier, is that true? if working experience is a must, i prefer to work for some time before applying MBA. by the way, do you think my IELTS7 is enough, the four bands are listening 7 reading 7.5 writing 6 speaking 6.5

Re: Schulich (York) 2013 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
Hey guys, I am trying to calculate my GPA. On the Schulich website, the requirements are the following:

"An undergraduate degree from a recognized university with at least a B average in the last two full years (or equivalent) of academic work."

"The admissions committee will calculate your GPA based on the last degree that you completed. A full year course will be given a value of two and a half year courses. The last 20 half courses will be assessed."

If I took more than 20 courses in my last 2 years, do they take my best 20?
Also, does that mean a full year course counts as 2.5 half courses out of the 20?
