Assuming you're not anything really special, not a minority, not a founder of Instagram, etc.
Average stats, average background... is it really important to talk to admissions officers at information sessions or when you visit campus? Is it critical to visit campus and sit in on a class? Will they even know that you visited if you don't go out of your way to meet an admissions officer?
When you visit an info session, b-schools scan your registration details before you leave the room. Some of them (like Duke has done in the past) will also extend a reduced application fee offer to you.
So it IS good to attend information events. It will also give you a chance to talk to alumni and admissions teams to get your queries answered. Think of queries beyond the GPA/ GMAT/ TOEFL to other ones that will help you understand your career prospects post MBA, opportunities on campus that cater to your specific interests, financial aid etc.
