Suggested hotels: https://mbawelcome.wharton.upenn.edu/wel ... e-to-stay/

I'm also staying with some current students. See you soon!

Where do you see the list of suggested hotels? I must have missed that.

I may just stay with a bud who is a first year.

Thoughts? Also - doing it over superbowl weekend - i wish it wasn't so.

I sent my GMAT score to wharton before R1 apps were due, but my file under "my Wharton MBA" still shows that they have not received it. Does anyone else have this same issue?

Same issue here. If I don't see it change by around mid-Feb, I'll probably give admissions a call to see whether they need this re-sent or something.

has anyone contacted the admissions/financial aid office to get more money in fellowship? any idea as to where to start - email, phone, doing it before deposit is paid?

I emailed the financial aid office a quick note explaining the reasons for asking for more funds. Seeing that the deposit is due tomorrow, you probably will have to pay the deposit to secure your spot. They also mentioned to me that they do NOT match offers from other schools 1:1.

thanks! how quick was the turn-around time in them coming back to you? and i mention the deposit because i imagine that if i sign the deposit, i lose some "negotiating" power, or is that not a big problem?

About a week after I emailed them, they let me know the timeline for the process. They told me they would decide by February 7th, so I'm not sure how it's handled now. I guess you lose some negotiating power, but some people pay the deposit and later decide to go to another program, so they will still want to try to keep you there. Yes you will lose the $2k if you decide later to go somewhere else, but if the other program is a better fit or offered more fellowship support, then $2k is not much in the long run. I would suggest telling them you are going to pay the deposit to secure your spot but that you are still waiting on other schools to make a final decision. I also would phrase it in a nicer way, you don't want them to feel like you are playing them or threatening not to go there if they don't pay up.

Anyone thinking about taking the Coursera "Intro to Operations Management" offered by Wharton? I'm hoping this free course gives me enough knowledge to test out of the ops core requirement.

Was anyone able to do the housing tour over admit weekend? I bolted early for the Super Bowl but curious as to what properties people liked.

So, round 1 admits - did anyone who received a fellowship have success in negotiating the dollar amount? Do a lot of people try that?
