hello!

i sincerely want to know that how many sums on permutaion/combination/probability ??? do actually appear in GMAT CAT.

am very poor in this & it will take me a hell of a time to cope.

is it ok if i skip this section & still get a 650+

pls guide

Hi sushom, from your post, I assume that you are a non-native speaker. Therefore, unless you ace the verbal section, it will be very very difficult to get over 650 if you do not have some basic notion of P&C. Depending on your target score and available time, I would suggest you to briefly scan the gmatclub section for information on it.

verbal is tough for me...as well
i guess i will need to brush up on these concepts

sushom,

all the best explanations are here, check all the problems related to C and P, analyze them and understand the solution for each kind of question.Then you will be able to ace the GMAT :wink:

For your information :
- on my 1st test I got 39 in Quant with a Combination
- on my last test (2 days ago) I got 48 in Quant without any C or P. Just 2 probabilities.

Actually you should study all the different subjects and be sure that you can answer to different type of question....but to score more than 46 in Quant you need to have a good knowledge of C/P and Probabilities because one of them will eventually come out :P

thanks for your advice.

anyways I just have barely a month for my exam...so while i will spend sometime going thru the gmatclub probs.

I would appreciate if any of the members could guide me into the basics of permutation, combination & probablity...as a beginer.

I want my basics to be clear on this. any such material avaliable as an attachment :?:

Can anyone recommend a book that teaches prob/comb/perm. I am having trouble with the basics and want to be fully prepared in all departments for the test.

As for books, the best option is to go to your local library and check out basic statistics books - that should cover Perm, Comb, Probability and Statistics!

Also, search for free tutorials online... like
