Education:
B.Tech in Mining Engineering from NIT Raipur. CGPA: 8.05/10
Work experience:
Company : Coal India Limited.(World largest coal producing company)
Exp: 3 yrs till July 2015.
I have worked in underground mines managing 50 to 60 mens (who are mostly illiterate).

This have increase the productivity of the mines as well as the production. Overall cost of the project is 7 crore but most important is the safety of the person while in running condition. We are working in odd situation and any small mistake cost us like a hell.
Working underground is a challenging task and the mundane condition there cannot be explained, which is always accompanied with risk of life.
Being interested in Planning, I am the only executive certified in mine planning software (SURPAC).
During my first year, I was appointed as blasting nodal officer and my task was to lookout for the proper procedure in blasting of coal, implementation of blasting rules & guidelines and spreading awareness among workers about its uses and risk in whole mine.

Entrepreneur experience:
Analysing the gap in true mentoring need in india, I took a self initiative to develop an online-platform (with a vision of a company) where one can interact, acquire knowledge and many other details about the colleges students wanted to enrol. This platform was successful partially but decline due to lack of specific skill. In doing so, I gained a fruitful experience and got to know the various difficulties faced while building a company like finance, marketing, development, recruiting , negotiating with VCs etc.

Dear Prateek,
So you have some good stuff in your profile. Most of all I like your leadership of such a large group of workers, and if you add that to the potential costs and dangerous situations, it also makes for some very good stories. Your Volunteer work seems pretty solid too, and that should be a nice bonus. NIT too is a quite recognized school. Maybe not as good as IIT for the AdComs, but they know it, which is already a start.
Obviously, you will have to retake your GRE or do the GMAT to aim for top 15-20 schools. You'd need at least a 164 on each section (about) to make Top 10 schools reasonable (the equivalent of say a 710, 720).
But otherwise I like your profile - it's quite different from a lot of Indian candidates. And I feel the potential for a lot of really good stories.
Hope this helps,
Best,
Jon
