Note: I'm still in the process of deciding which MBA program to attend, but I've been through Cornell Tech's recruiting process and have visited the NYC campus, so I wanted to share my experience - I honestly have nothing but good things to say about the program - if you're interested in entrepreneurship and tech, this is a great MBA option that I highly suggest you to look into:
*Product-focused curriculum/startup studio environment: from what I gathered, students have ample opportunity to work on different startup ideas, build real products and collaborate with graduate students in the technical masters programs
*Access to top entrepreneurs and VCs: while I was there, I attended the weekly "Conversations in the Studio" where the leadership of Cloudflare and a partner from Union Square Ventures came for a Q&A session with the students. I also heard that a founder from Twitter was coming the following week
*Students work with tech companies on projects throughout the year: this is a great substitute for the normal internship process - some of the companies I heard the current students were working with include LinkedIn, eBay and FF Venture Capital
*Top companies are recruiting there: I talked to students who had received PM offers from companies like Amazon and Google, both East and West coast
*Small but close, tight-knit class: the class size is small (40) but the students said they have all become extremely close due to the summer in Ithaca and group projects
It's a one year program, which carries positives and negatives, but if you're someone who is looking for a future in tech, my two cents is there's a lot to say about only being out of industry for one year. The tech industry changes fast and places a lot of value on tangible projects - Cornell Tech will give you a lot of tech-tailored experience in short amount of time. I would not be surprised at all if many clones of this type of program start popping up over the next few years.
I'm happy to answer any questions about my experience, so feel free to message me (future years as well!). Also, the admissions staff is super friendly, so you can also try them (
