Hi Everyone, I am new here ! A couple months back I took the GMAT; however, my score was not impressive. I am trying to get into the Kellogg part-time accelerated program, and I believe that with a 660-710 score I would have a decent shot to be admitted (trying to keep goals realistic here given that I work full time).
I would like to ask the folks who have or are taking the GMAT, what you think my strategy should be in terms of areas of focus to improve my score, and what score do you think I would need to have a fair shot at Kellogg part-time program. My results of 1st GMAT and overall profile below. I am wondering whether I should solely focus on quant? Or should I still study verbal?
1st GMAT - 610
Verbal 35 (76%)
Quant 38 (40%)
IR - 8 (92%)
AWA - 6
Profile:
3 years experience (4 upon matriculation)
1 year public accounting, 2 years FP&A F50 company
Currently a Senior Financial Analyst (also currently hiring for an analyst which will be a direct report - this should add to my leadership profile)
Moderate extracurriculars
3.9 Undergrad GPA (double major accounting and finance) & licensed CPA
Regarding the GMAT query, most of the times our strength turns into our weakness if we do not pay attention to it.
Do not ignore Verbal as it can play a big role in improving your overall score.
