650 (84%), Q 46 (80%), V 34 (72%).
Although I am not too happy with the score I guess it is what it is. I was aiming for a Part time MBA at Kellogg, Chicago or Stern. I am not sure what the prospects are with this score at these schools for the part time program. Do you guys know? Luckily I recently received a job offer from one of the top strategic consulting firms. I guess I just have to make up my mind as which to go after (The consulting job will definitely not give me time to study). If I find out that I have a chance at the schools of my choise, I definitely want to go after the MBA. Lets see.
GMAT Experience:
General
Test Center - As many of you know I was supposed to take the exam last friday but got turned down because the date of birth was wrong in the system. Somehow I got it fixed and took the test this morning. I went to a different center in the DC area. If anyone is taking the test in the DC area I would recommend this center in Vienna. This is much better than the one I was at last friday in DC. The staff were very good. I showed up an hour before my scheduled time and actually began my test 40 mins before schedule.
Erasable Board - I got the "famous" erasable board. Let me comment on this a little bit - it was EXTREMELY comfortable to use this erasable board. What it is, is a 5 sheet (10 sides) spiral bound notebook along with a fine non-erasable marker. Actually I tend to write a lot in Quants. But this entire workbook was enough for both AWA and quant. DON'T WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT THE ERASABLE BOARD.
Break - to my surprise I got two 10 min breaks as opposed to the 5 min break I was expecting. I am not sure if I just lucked out (I was the first person at this Pearson center to take the GMAT)
AWA
Both the essays were very straightforward. The argument essay was like the cause and effect CR we do in verbal. I think I did pretty good on both the essays. Wrote a lot so just finished it on time.
Quants
I thought I did the quants extremely well and was expecting close to 50. But guess I screwed up somewhere. I got a TON of DS questions. I also got a couple of probability questions. I thought the Quants was not very tough. I would say most were of the same caliber as that in
OG.
Verbal
I guess I just panicked for no reason in the verbal and screwed up somewhere big time. The questions were pretty decent. I got 4 RCs. One was 4 paragraphs long, 1 two paragraphs long, and 2 1 paragraph long. There were a TON of SC questions in the beginning and a TON of DS questions towards the end. I actually ran out of time towards the end and had to guess the last 3-4.
I guess thats it from my experience. Hopefully it is helpful to you guys. Let me know if there are questions.
I just want to thank everyone for helping me through the process. My quick 2.5 month preparation would not have been possible without this club. Thanks to everyone on the verbal forum (vivek, giddi, TeHCM, allabout, bhai, andy and anyone else I did not mention) for helping me out. You guys are truly great. My verbal was pathetic before I came to this forum. You guys definitely helped me a great deal.
