Fiction sales 84 =30

Fiction sales 85 =10

Fiction sales 86 =52.......approximate

Fiction sales 87 =58........ approximate

Fiction sales 88 =95........ approximate

Mean = 245 / 5 = 59

59 is close to 58

\(Average = \frac{(30+12+52+52+95)}{5}\)

Or, \(Average = \frac{241}{5}\)

Or, \(Average = 48.20\)

Thus, the answer will be (D) 48

Year 1984 1985 1986 1987 1988
Sales 30K 10K 52K 52K 95

Average = \(\frac{Total Sum}{Number of items}\)
Sum = 30 + 10 + 52 + 52 + 95 = 239
Number = 5
Average = \(\frac{239}{5}\) = 47.5 ~ 48K ans (D)

*Just need to fix this minor error-
245/5 is 49 not 59 . Hence the answer is D.
