A ladder that is 10 meters long is leaning against a wall. The base of the ladder is on the floor 6 meters from the wall. What is the distance, in meters, from the bottom of the wall
to the point where the ladder touches the wall?

(A) 6
(B) 8
(C) 9
(D) 10
(E) 2√34

The ladder, the base of the floor and the wall makes a right angle triangle. say ABC

Now AB = 10 ,
BC = 6
CA = ?

We should remember the Pythagorean triplet to solve it faster.
So, 3,4,5 is a Pythagorean triplet and their multiples is also a Pythagorean Triplet
i.e. 6,8,10.

So, CA = 8
