Hello all, I am a kinda newbie here and fould this forum is a lot useful and helpful. I'd like ask your opinoins about my chances of going in top 50 universities. I am thinking of pursuing Phd in Accounting.
I recently graduated from the one of fourth tier univeristy in the US with an MBA (graduate, 3.7 and undergrad 2.8). And, I have no working experience, except for worked as a graduate assistant, but passed CPA exam. I gave the test few days ago and got 650. I hope to increase my GMAT score up to 700+ after studying few more months. I believe my poor undergrad GPA and the lack of working experience would be biggest obstables to getting an admission from the top 50 schools. If I did well on GMAT and got good recs and SOP, could I be a good candidate for the top 50 schools, what GMAT scores at least do you think I must provide to possibly hurdle such low undergrad GPA and the lack of working experience? Is working experience critical factor to be considered in measuring candidate potentiality? Having considered that, what schools might be good targets for me?
Your advise is very appreciated. Thanks,
