It is my guess and my bet that what helps you the most with CR is ability to understand why you messed up the other time, making review of mistakes as important as the test.

I feel a little weaker now in my RC skills (it has been almost a year now) but when I was taking the test, I developed a set of "rules" or "traps" that ETS used to lure me in to choose the wrong answer choice or at least to get me doubt.
I am not talking about some stupid things that Kaplan or Princeton sometimes include in their tests - some advanced logic or else, but simple points. I wlil try to publish them soon in the Verbal overview and probably on the Forum as well cause it seems a lot more people check out the forum. After a while, CR was almost as clear as SC or even math cause you start laughing at their tricks. Just as an example, a very popular one is SCOPE. Often CR questions will have answer choices that are out of scope. For instance, the passage may be talking about Sports cars, but one of the answer choices says CARS, not being specific enough, thus vague and out of scope... I wish I could give more examples now, but I don't have any questions ready to illustrate this.

I will try to publish at least something on CR by Monday.
Check out the verbal section on Monday, OK?

Hi, Acer,
could you, please, give the exact title of the book you've bought from amazon? I saw different books there by Arco, which one did you acquire? I have the same problem - screwed up my verbal section :x (20) ang got a stupid score for math  (34). So, I need some completely new approach to practicing

I guess in Verbal section, getting over the SC part is not that difficult.
And moreover SC is the area where you can see most improvement. I started off at 60%, and after 3-4 months I was scoring over 80% in SC. The official guide has the best explainations for SC.

That I screwed up in CR and RC. Come to think of it what really went wrong, I can't make it :? . The feel that you need to move on and not stuck up, some complex literature and lack of concentration all helped in bringing me down.

Next Move: Bought Nova's book, Unofficial Guide by Arco.
I would write my reviews of these once I get to these.

cheers.

ACER,

have you gotten the Nova's book? What do you think?
Have you gone through it, can you give your expert opinion on it?

No pressure, just curious.
