Re: Opinions needed: PR CAT1 730 (48Q, 44V) [#permalink]
Based entirely on empiral observations of other test takers in the club, the big three (PR/Kaplan/Arco-Barrons) basically tend to copy each other. The accuracy of their scoring algorithms are also hard to verify.

Probably best to stick with the one and only authority: GMATPrep. If you score a 730 on that (without having seen the questions beforehand) then you stand a good chance of doing well on the real McCoy.

All the best!

I wouldn't pay much attention to PR CAT
their Q does not provide any upper level questions
and verbal especially SC can't even compare to easy SC of GMATPREP
their CR come directly from OG and GMATPREP
their RC taste nearly the same as paper-based TOEFL
( the hardest of RC among PBT CBT and IBT )

what ever score from PR CAT please subtract by AT LEAST 100
and you will see what will be the real result on test day

because SC in PR is completely easier than real test,
their V score get inflated by this. that's why I don't believe much
in PRcat

for myself , I get PRcat score 140 more than what I get on real test
that's why I say like that.

I thank you all for the inputs. I agree that the SCs are very simple compared to what's on here, though I still got 2 wrong on this test, mainly due to my own carelessness. While reviewing the questions I got wrong, I realized that when I see questions that are easy, I tend to drift.

For math, I realized why I got a 48 despite getting only 2 wrong. I got the 1st one wrong, which was a sitter :) Also read here that math on the PR is not representative, so I'll plan on working all the Challenges and GMAT Prep style questions.

For CR, I find the OG pretty doable, so am focussing on the LSAT tests. Got 18/25 on my first CR test (LSAT). Obviously needs work (2mins per question)

RC also needs practice, so am planning to lap up the OG and then hit LSAT.

Will keep the folks here posted.

ps_dahiya, you are inspirational.
