Shishou - as Scott and Rich said, 700 is a great start. Having said that, most top US schools look for scores of 720+ (740+ if you are aiming for scholarship). Most people need between 50 to 80 hours to go from 700 to 750. Take a look at these two examples below:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/trust-the-pr ... 07942.html
https://gmatclub.com/forum/from-v27-to-v41-308029.html

How should you approach this?

Follow this simple principle:
1. Identify the key areas you need to improve on? Given your current score, you probably need to improve on 2-3 areas.
2. Spend focused effort just on these three areas.
3. Revise other sections so that your score does not suffer.

Under our mentorship program, we helped a few students attain similar improvements. We documented one such case study at the link below. Take a look at it. It will act as a template of how you should plan your next attempt.

Overall, the most important thing - have hard metrics to track your improvement.

I hope this helps.

Cheers!!

Hi Shishou,

First off, a 700/Q48 is an outstanding Score, so you can comfortably apply to any Business Schools that interest you. As such, a retest might not be necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

There's certainly no harm in retesting - and you could potentially pick up some points in both the Quant and Verbal sections. Before we can discuss how to best proceed with your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

You might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.
