Re: The author of the classic Ivanhoe, Sir Walter Scott, being particularl [#permalink]
I think in c there is parallelism error. B is the best choice.

The author of the classic Ivanhoe, Sir Walter Scott, being particularly notable for its descriptions of how the Norman French had conquered Anglo Saxon English and for its modern female characters, along with Robert Burns, the poet, helped in creating Scottish literature and greatly influenced subsequent authors such as James Fenimore Cooper, Charles Dickens, and WM Thackeray.

A. The author of the classic Ivanhoe, Sir Walter Scott, being particularly notable for its descriptions of how the Norman French had conquered Anglo Saxon English and for its modern female characters, along with Robert Burns, the poet
The Red Highlight should modify "Ivanhoe" but is incorrectly modifying "Sir Walter Scott". Usage of "being" is also debate-able

B. Together with the poet Robert Burns, Sir Walter Scott, the author of the classic Ivanhoe, which is particularly notable for its descriptions of how the Norman French conquered Anglo Saxon English and for its modern female characters
Correct for rightly modifying "Ivanhoe" by using "which" and using "Together with the poet Robert Burns" for correctly modifying "Sir Walter Scott"

C. Sir Walter Scott, the author of the classic Ivanhoe, notable for its descriptions of how the Norman French particularly conquered Anglo Saxon English and its modern female characters, along with the poet Robert Burns
Incorrect. "notable for its descriptions" seems to modify the main subject "Sir Walter Scott" here rather than "Ivanhoe". Also the modifier "along with the poet Robert Burns" is too far away from the subject "Sir Walter Scott".

D. Descriptions of how the Norman French conquered Anglo Saxon English and how its female characters are modern, particularly notable in the classic Ivanhoe, written by Sir Walter Scott together with the poet Robert Burns
Wrongly suggests that "Sir Walter Scott" wrote "Ivanhoe" together with "Robert Burns"

E. Descriptions of the Norman French conquering Anglo Saxon English and its modern female characters, particularly notable in the classic Ivanhoe, written by Sir Walter Scott together with the poet Robert Burns
Wrongly suggests that "Sir Walter Scott" wrote "Ivanhoe" together with "Robert Burns"

IMO B is the correct answer as explained above
