DIFFICULTY AND TIMER STATISTICS
For his astronomy project, Brandon researched the weather patterns of five planets of a distant solar system. The bar graph to the left shows the number of days during a planetary year, on average, that each of five different types of weather occurs on the respective planets. In compiling the data into this graph, Brandon classified every day of each planet's year by exactly one type of weather.
Use the drop-down menus to fill in the blanks in each of the following statements based on the information given by the graph.
1. Ephem has more snowy days in its year than .
2. During Brandon's research, he discovered that the farther away a planet is from its sun, the more days it has in a year. According to the data in the graph above, the planet farthest from its sun is .

Official Explanation
The x-axis indicates number of days, and the y-axis indicates types of weather. Each group of five bars gives us the number of days that each of the five planets experienced that type of weather.
1. Ephem has more snowy days in its year than________
Ephem has 250 snowy days a year. We should check each answer choice against this value. The only answer choice that yields a lower number is the sum of Carona's sunny and rainy days in its year, about 140.
2. During Brandon's research, he discovered that the farther away a planet is from its sun, the more days it has in a year. According to the data in the graph above, the planet farthest from its sun is________
Instead of adding up all the bars for each planet, we can use a little critical thinking to get to the answer more quickly. Brazo has the most days of all five planets for four of the five weather categories and so likely has the most days total. Although Carona has far more windy days, it's not enough to make up the difference, considering that Carona has far fewer days in all of the other categories than Brazo does. Therefore, the planet farthest from its sun is Brazo.

1)Ephemy snowy days =250> the sum of Carona's sunny and rainy days in its year=225, rest all values are above 260 2)Per the graph we can see that Brazo has peeks for almost all the seasons so it be farthest since it has greatest number of days in a year
