Looking at the drawing you would think you can solve, but the data provided is not sifficient.
Condition 1: It basically tells you about a diagnol for the square
Condition 2: Gives you the ration, but you need to know the ratio between one shaded square to the bigger sqaure, then only you wud be able to find the areq using this condition.
My answer is E

you know the lenght of the side of largest square is 8
ur given "ration of the length of the shaded SQUARES"as 1:2:4:8
so assume the lenghts are 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x. therefore 8x = 8 and x = 1. You can find the remaining length and given it is square and hence the areas..!
