Hi I am Italian and I have been living in Italy since I was born.
I graduated from a state university in economics and found a job in Milan.
I can tell you very well that as a graduate you can expect to earn something around 25k EUR gross per year on average. For instance, that is the salary you can get working at the big4...
Ofc, you can earn less if you studied literature or other humanities or more if you studied engineering and started working in MBB firms (analyst at MCK,Bain, BCG can expect to earn from 30to40k per year gross right after university...)
Nevertheless, wages stay very low and in most of the company, if you start at 25k, you will reach 30/35k when you are 30 and only those who change job or become a manager can earn more.
I guess that there are few people around 35 who earn 60k in Italy... and they are for sure all managers leading other ppl!
That said, the SDA MBA Bocconi claims that their MBA earn fix salary of 83k plus a bonus of 23k ... so more than 103K EUR GROSS per year! for people who are 30yo and will NOT be managers of anyone once they graduate! in all the case they will join other companies with an ASSOCIATE ROLE!
here is the official statement:
"The full-time one-year MBA Class of 2018 at SDA Bocconi posted an average post-MBA gross salary of € 83,266 and other compensation of € 21,300 three months after post-graduation as on March 31, 2019."
I am a bit confused how is that possible?
talking with recent alumni they told me that the all earn around 65k on average plus a bonus of 20k more or less... so way lower than the stats reported...
1) Do you think this stats are biased? how could they do that?
2) do we have here alumni who can testify about this?
thanks!!!
