Re: In recent years, businesses have become more conscious of their [#permalink]
[quote="SantoshSukumaran"]Is responsible to incorrect? I marked E and the OA is E. Can someone throw some light please.

You are 'responsible for'something or some person if you control or influence that thing or that person.
For instance, teacher is responsible for the lectures.

You are 'responsible to' some person if you are accountable to that person.
For instance, teacher is responsible to the principal.

In the given sentence, the businesses are responsible to the society or they are answerable to society. Therefore, use of 'responsible to' is correct.

Is this an official question?
I have never seen any GMAT official question that says "responsible to" in correct choice.
