Hi

My Profile:

GMAT- 730(Q-50,V-38) AWA- 5.5

TOEFL iBT- 107/120

GPA- 67.32% (Indian Std.)

Nationality- Indian.

Profession - Software Engineer.

Work Ex- By the Fall 2007 it would have gained 4 yrs of exp.

Interested in : IT Management and Entrepreneurship

I am planning to apply to some of the good schools in UK. I consulted some body and he suggested (In order):

1. London School of Business.
2. Cranfield
3. Warwick
4. Lancaster

I was surprised not to see Oxford and Cambridge in the list, as the have better rankings in FT list.


Can anybody help me out from this confussion? Can anybody comment on the status of the above mentioned schools?

1. LBS - Best choice, students with very diverse background.... good faculty, excellent reputation.

2. You can have Oxford at this place.... for its course, faculty, post grad salary and brand recongnition

3. Cranfield - good curriculum and extra curricular activities. great industry link.

4. You can have Manchester here for its course, location, brand and industry links...

5. Warwick - Good course, but very aged students

6. Lancaster - Best value for money... its ranking is growing very fast. but does not has HSMP visa facility (in case you want to settle in UK). so getting job after graduation can be bit difficult.

Cambridge will come after this…. Though its brand is a big attraction especially in North America.

Just curious… why have you chosen UK schools and not US/Canada???

Thanks for the reply.

Doing MBA from UK has two advantages:

1. Low cost.
2. Short duration.
3. Ease in getting VISA.

Well I am applying to couple of universities in US as well.

What all coleges are you targeting?

May I remind you that LBS is a 2 yr program and the cost of 45k pounds is quite similar to that of other US schools.

Thanks for the input Paul. I agree that cost wise LBS is comparable to US schools, but duration is 15-21 months.

From my current reading, it does appear that oxford comes next to LBS.
