I just took my first GMAT Official Practice Test today and was pleased with my overall score, but have to question whether the Verbal section score (V45) may be too good to be true?

When taking the Verbal section of the exam, I saw 3 of 4 RC passages back to back in the beginning. Seems strange as they are normally much more spread out in the other CATs I've taken. Has anyone experienced something like this before?

I have to think it played to my advantage, because RC is not a usual strength of mine but I got 100% of RC questions correct, so maybe I was only seeing easier passages/questions as they were in the beginning of the question set? In the end, I only 5 questions wrong between CR and SC.

I'm taking this section score with a grain of salt as it is significantly highly than what I've been scoring (V37-38 range), but curious your thoughts on this?

studybuddy - Encountering 3 of the 4 RC passages at the beginning of the test is uncommon, but we have seen such a pattern even on the real-GMAT. Therefore, be prepared for all kinds of surprises come test day. Had I been in your place, I would have stayed optimistic about the V45 score, and taken another practice test to confirm my scoring ability on the verbal section. Perhaps, all the additional prep you did after scoring V37-38 is showing results now? :)

Not correct. Your accuracy level/performance in SC/CR does not impact the difficulty level of questions/passages in RC.

They are completely different areas and the difficulty level is tracked separately in each of these three areas.

Hi All,
I have attempted 4 official mock tests not once, but twice. But lately I have been observing an extremely low level of Quant questions. In my first attempt of 4th test and second attempts for all the tests, I have been able to score between 49 and 51 in Quant with ease. Even after correcting multiple questions in a row, I got easy and straight forward questions. Only the last few, say 10 or so questions were difficult. Can anyone confirm if this is a glitch? I am writing GMAT on 22nd June 2021

Hi studybuddy,

740 is a fantastic score, nice work! To determine how "flukish" this score may be, it will be helpful see how you do on another one. When do you plan to take your next practice exam?
