Thanks.. Should my answer on the application be that I don't have any experience...to stay consistent w/ my interview?

I would go ahead and put in on the application since you haven't turned it in yet. If anyone asks, just explain that you completely blanked on it during the interview, but remembered the experience when you were taking the time to complete your app. That is certainly believable, and I don't think the ad comm would think twice about it.

Again, I don't think this is something that will make or break your app, they just want to get to know you better.

You interviewed before submitting the application?

I would definitely put it on your application. I'm sure if the person who interviewed you did read your essay she/he would make the obvious assumption that when you replied in the negative in your interview, you were thinking in a professional context.
