Hi,
I gave two GMAT attempts last year,650 (Q44 V35) and 660 (Q47V34). and I have my third attempt scheduled on 21st Jan (two days later).
Now my Quant is pretty good now and I am confident I'll score Q47-Q50 range but I am targetting a V37-40 and the problem seems to be with my RC timing, not with RC accuracy. I have prepared from
EGMAT mainly and pretty satisfied with the learnings. In mocks,
EGMAT practice QUestions, Official GMAC practice questions, My RC accuracy is above 70-80% but this is coming at the cost of time. I spend 6.5 to 8.5 minutes in reading the longest passages and If I rush through those (like in under 5 mins), I dont understand well and questions get wrong. as a result, my accuracy drops significantly. In my latest offical mock, I scored Q49V28 with two RC's blown up badly.
SC and CR are pretty consistent and I believe that I'll do good in those.
Now, I need help from you guys. I have read before in some debriefs that the 2nd RC can blow up the timing in the real test big time and its better to cap its timing and pace through the second RC. Otherwise, the 2nd RC is generally tough so its accuracy is hard to achieve and it hampers the timing which gets the accuracy of the last 6 questions significantly down.
I think I have experienced the same and I have 3 official mocks left in which I want to test this strategy. Please give me suggestion on how to improve RC timing and if this strategy of sacrificing one long RC with lesser accuracy can actually get my score up in verbal.
