Official Explanation

1. Assume that, in the price category, a lower price constitutes a higher rating. For each of the following pairs of characteristics, select Yes if exactly one of the listed microwaves has the highest rating in both characteristics. Otherwise, select No.

Explanation

Price and energy efficiency

Sorting the table on Price reveals that only the Luxo Economy microwave has the lowest price (€170) and thus, given the assumption stated in the text, the highest rating for price. Sorting the table on Energy efficiency reveals that the InstaCook CM-2000 microwave has the highest rating (5) for energy efficiency while the Luxo Economy has the lowest rating (1). Therefore, none of the listed microwaves has the highest rating in both characteristics.

The correct answer is No.

Energy efficiency and ease of use

Sorting the table on Energy efficiency reveals that only the InstaCook CM-2000 microwave has the highest rating (5) for energy efficiency. Sorting the table on Ease of use reveals that three microwaves have the highest rating for ease of use (Micro GX, Heatwave 380, Superchef Platinum) while the InstaCook CM-2000 has a lower rating (3). Therefore, none of the listed microwaves has the highest rating in both characteristics.

The correct answer is No.

Heating evenness and ease of use

Sorting the table on Heating evenness reveals that only the Micro GX microwave has the highest rating (5) for heating evenness. Sorting the table on Ease of use reveals that exactly three microwaves have the highest rating (5) for ease of use (Micro GX, Heatwave 380, Superchef Platinum). Therefore, exactly one of the microwaves listed, the Micro GX, has the highest rating in both characteristics.

The correct answer is Yes.
