i took the gmat today and i found that the second essay question was a repeat that i had practiced with before so i was happy about that. the quant section was harder than any practice test i've taken. i had practice with kaplan and 800score and neither were as hard as the actual test. i didn't get any work problems and few probability questions. not much geometry either, mostly algebra and word problems. there were a lot of ratio problems combined with probability.

the verbal section was easier than the practice tests though and i finished with time to spare.

It is not about hardness of the questions appeared in GMAT, but about how familiar one is with the questions encountered there. Oftentimes, unfamiliarity entails hardness.

hallelujah makes an excellent point. That is why i encourage practising with harder problems that force us to understand the concept better, not just the problem.

that is true about unfamiliarity. but i practiced alot with many different types of exams and i was getting good at it, but these questions were really diff from the ones i was used to doing. i used the quant from kaplan, 800score, crack-gmat, princeton review and some arco.

How did u do in the actual GMAT?
If you can let me know how much you actually scored and how much you used to score in kaplan, 800score, crack-gmat, princeton review and some arco, then it would help me access my prep!
