I finally took my exam today. Needless to say, I was thoroughly pleased to see the score.
(pardon the laconicity of my sentences, i m keying in in-between my experiments)
Summary of my prep:
1. Scattered studies during July and August
2. 3 months (Sept, Oct, Nov) of break. Actually, I m a grad student and had my semester which means courses and research work.
3. Got done with my term in first week of december, dared to register immediately and took the date (3rd Jan). That instilled some discipline in my preparation. Also, I took advantage of winter break (no courses, low research productivity) and used all my time for GMAT preparation. Last 20 days counted a lot.
Practice test scores:
GMATPrep1 : 770 (13 days before exam)
2: 760 (10 days before exam)
Princeton (I took these in summer): 730, 710, 680 (not in that order)
Kaplan (this is the first thing i did, early summer. I WOULD NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL): 640, 620, 610, 590.
Being in school and in an active research environment, I could forego on quant preparation. Moreover, I also scored 50 in every Quant section. I just solved the practice tests and occassionally visited the MATH forum.
I took GRE sometime back. So was familiar with CR, RC. I just had to work on SC. Manhattan and
OG were my main sources. I pored over
OG's explanation thrice.
Well thats about it! Happy to answer specific queries. General comments: same as those of others
(sorry, too pressed for time, but as I said, i ll be happy to answer specific queries.)
best,
