I took the PR course and I found it very helpful, however I had a great teacher so I thought that helped.

I knew with a class I would devote more time to it than I would have self-studying.

My first PR practice test was a 510

GMAT #1 was a 610 (I can attribute this to nerves and what not)

GMAT #2 was a 690

so overall that was a 180 point increase

Travel09 is right simply taking a class probably won't be good enough to cross 700, unless you have a good quant and verbal background. I took a PR class and I'm not sure it was worth the money but if you have a hard time staying motivated and doing enough homework, you will probably get more out of a class if not I'd take a look at what the high scorers are doing on this forum.

To expand on what I said.

My first practice test (hadn't seen any gmat questions or even understood what they were asking) I got a 500 and after my PR class I got a 640 on the test.

My biggest disappointment was that they don't actually teach you any math or verbal it is basically all methods and when to use what methods to make the test more managable. I was a little disappointed with my score but I think I've got the base I need to go from 640 to 700 now.

I took a two weekend Veritas course and got mixed results. My quant went up 4 points but my verbal, which was what I really needed to improved stayed exactly the same. My AWA did jump up however.

I think the quant is a lot easier to improve in a short amount of time. But once you learn their concepts on the verbal you really need to practive them for a while which is why I did'nt like the weekend course.

They let me take the full 13 week course for free on-line since I wasnt happy with my score increase. The problem I have is that here in Ohio the better prep courses (Veritas, Manhattan) don't have full in-class courses because there arent enough people who sign up.
