After I took the GMAT and got a 650 back in April, I started getting information from Boston College and the University of Tulsa. It's the same idea. The schools look for people that might be interested in their program and contact them. I would take it as a good thing for sure.

Hi peeps, fellow mba's, prospective mba's,
I've lurking on this forum for atleast 6months now and have found it invaluable. Anyway, this is my first real post but I expect to get more involved as I currently intend on applying in 2009 or 2010. I think I am in a good position in that I have some time to prepare. But I digress...
I did my GMAT about a year ago and got 710 (first timer, probs take it again) but I didnt choose any schools for my score to be sent. In this case I believe GMAC sent out my profile to some schools of their choice. A few weeks later I received a brief letter from a Tuck Alum (or current student, I cant remember) just introducing the school and explaining it's benefits to someone from London (we are both from London) and said I could contact him If I had any questions.
I am curious as to whether this means anything. GMAC keeps basic profile information on candidates and this is probably sent out to schools. So it is likely that given my basic info, Tuck made a deliberate decision to reach out and contact me.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? What do you think, is it correct for me to think I have a better shot of getting into Tuck than otherwise?
