Healthcare Administration/Management Programs?

There is a special Healthcare program at Wharton, and it is arguably the best out there. I know a bunch of people who are doing/have done it - all are happy with the curriculum and the exposure to pharma and biotech companies, hospitals, etc.

That's what I thought too. But we're obviously not very objective...

Kellogg also has a healthcare management concentration. They seem to keep changing the name of the program so I'd check their website.

From my research though, Wharton's HCM program seems to be the most robust and well-connected. I should mention that I'm prolly a bit biased since it's my top choice

From wht i know, Wharton followed by Duke have the best HCM programs in the nation. But, to get into health care, u dont necessarily need an HCM specialization. U can always learn the tricks of the trade once u join one the companies in that area. j&j, for example, recruits at almost all the top schools, most of which dont have a dedicated HCM concentration.

No health care experience (clinical, engineering, consulting, whatever), is a really good reason that you should go to a school with a health care concentration. If you don't have some kind of relevant experience, I think it would be tough to get your foot in the door at the other schools (depending on what you want to go into). Even at a school with a concentration, you will probably be a step behind if you are completely switching.

J&J is kind of a bad example to point to for recruiting, because they have a huge consumer products division, so their hiring base is more broad. Medtronic on the devices side is probably more representative. Though, if you look at the schools that J&J partners with (Wharton, Duke, Kellogg, I think maybe Haas), they all have health care specialties.

If you have some experience, you're probably alright at one of the top schools that specializes in what you want to do.
