Alaister Cooke’s doctor was once asked if he ever jogged. His reply was “Only when I am late attending the funeral of a patient who jogged!” Assuming the doctor’s statement is true, which one of the following is the most logical conclusion we can draw:

A The doctor disapproves of people who jog.

B The doctor only attends funerals when the deceased is a person who jogged.

C The doctor only attends funerals when the deceased is an ex-patient of his.

D The doctor never jogs unless he is attending a funeral.

E The doctor is an ineffectual and dangerous one, because he disapproves of jogging.

Nothing in the paragraph mentions "disapproval". Do not try to convince yourself that just because he jogs during patients' funerals that he dissaproves of it. Like most of us, he might just be lazy.

B The doctor only attends funerals when the deceased is a person who jogged.
We do not know how many funerals he attends. The only info we are given is he only jogs during patients' funerals.

C The doctor only attends funerals when the deceased is an ex-patient of his.
Same as B

D The doctor never jogs unless he is attending a funeral.
"Only when I am late attending the funeral of a patient who jogged!”"
E The doctor is an ineffectual and dangerous one, because he disapproves of jogging.

"Ineffectual" "Dangerous"????

Clearly A & E are out.

B & C come up with some thing out of the scope about when doctor attends funerals. *only*

D is clear and correct.
